Develop strategies

Strategies are your plans for action that are developed to achieve your objectives. Strategies can be universal or targeted. Universal strategies target all children in your community, while targeted strategies focus only on specific groups or suburbs in your community.

Examples of strategies:

Universal:
  • Provide library programs for all families with young children in your community
  • Set up a transition to school network with all primary schools and local early childhood services in your community
  • Establish a working party to examine how preschool participation can be increased in your community.
Targeted:
  • Provide family literacy programs in high-need suburbs (suburbs with high levels of developmental vulnerability)
  • Develop a plan to encourage families with young children to attend existing playgroups, or establish new playgroups, in high-need areas.
