Like the objectives, the strategies you set should always be informed by your AEDI results, along with additional information gathered earlier in the planning phase (data, community consultation information and evidence).
Each strategy will require one or more specific actions. These actions will be your 'to do' list of specific activities that have arisen from your original objectives. Your actions can be agreed once your Action Plan's outcomes, objectives and strategies are finalised with your Working Group.
Examples of actions
Strategy: Provide library programs for young children and their families in your community
Actions:
- Audit the existing library programs for children in your community
- Implement new library programs targeting children not reached by current programs
Strategy: Develop a plan to encourage families with young children to attend existing playgroups, or establish new playgroups, in high-need areas.
Actions:
- Arrange for playgroup coordinator to contact new first time mothers not attending playgroup and encourage/arrange their attendance at next group gathering
- Arrange for playgroup coordinator to follow up with mothers after first gathering and encourage ongoing participation.
