Establish a vision for your community's children

Before you get started with your Action Plan your Working Group needs a clear vision for the children in your community. The vision should be your Group's dream for the future of your children.

A community vision helps communicate why your group is working together and what you hope to achieve; it helps promote feelings of group ownership and provides a solid base for the planning phase.

Community visions should be:

  • Broad and inclusive
  • Inspiring and uplifting for the community
  • Easy to communicate
  • Understood and shared by the community

Examples of vision statements:

  • To improve the health, development and wellbeing of children in the community
  • To ensure that every child in the community has the best start in life
